Jake Bugg is an English singer songwriter, and today, he released his first full-length album in the US. As I listen to it now, I can't help but draw some comparisons to The Tallest Man on Earth. His voice is unconventional, rasping just slightly, but in such a way that it does not take away from the sound. It'll take a little while to fully digest the album, but on first listen, it's definitely moist enough to grace these pages. Moistness is life. Listen after the leap.
"Slide" is one of several examples of where Bugg slows down, showing off a more ballady type song. This happens to be my favorite of the tracks that I've heard to this point, and therefore, it shall be forced upon you.
"Two Fingers" is definitely more rambunctious and foot stompy than "Slide", and is his most popular song on Spotify. It's a different sound, but it's great to see a little versatility.
If you're ever bored, Google image search Jake Bugg. There is literally not a single picture of him smiling. What's the deal bro? Maybe he can lighten up now that he has been posted on Moist Melodies.
